During January 2000, a new tourist attraction became operational in London. London Frog operate a number of amphibious vehicles based on the wartime DUKW. Chassis Developments Ltd has provided a specialist re-engineering service to ensure that the FROGs will operate to modern day standards.
The engine has
been replaced with a modern environmentally friendly Euro2 diesel
engine, coupled to an Allison AT545 automatic gearbox, which will
help provide maximum passenger comfort. A stainless steel
vertical exhaust system was also installed.
A revised
braking system has been installed. The original hydraulically operated system dating from 1942 has been updated by the addition
of a modern air actuation system, using components from an EEC
approved brake system.
